NCC Group launches ‘Escrow Live’ customer portal

NCC
Group, the leading independent provider of escrow solutions, has
launched a secure web portal ‘Escrow Live’ which will allow its global
escrow client base to manage their accounts online. The Group’s escrow
solutions involve it holding the source code of business-critical
software applications on the behalf of the licensee with the software
vendor's agreement, ensuring the end user’s business continuity by
ensuring it could access and use it in the event of supplier failure.
As
well as querying existing agreements and changing contact details,
clients will be able to deposit source code securely through the
portal, making the regular deposit of updated versions easier and
saving both the cost and hassle involved with using the postal system
or couriers.
Security and performance were of paramount
importance when developing the portal due to the size of the files
which will be uploaded and the huge commercial implications of
unauthorized access to proprietary source code. The Group was at a
clear advantage here as it was able to draw on the extensive experience
of its security (in particular penetration testing) and performance
testing teams which were closely involved in the specification,
development and rigorous testing of the portal.
Although the
portal will be available to all clients, each client will continue to
have a dedicated account manager to guide them through the escrow
process, from advising them on the most appropriate solution for their
needs to ensuring the necessary paperwork is completed correctly.

escrow solutions, the majority of organizations are still failing to

Developments are currently underway which will in future allow clients to set up new escrow solutions through the portal.
